I'm sure there is only one kind of map for road battles and one for bridge battles. However, with the exception of a few cities and castles, it's mostly the same few maps. The cities and castles are beautiful, despite units hitting each other through doors, and really give a distinct feel.

The biggest flaw with Geko, for me, is the lack of map variety. They do guns nicely, but george's pistol breaks it for me and I can't bring myself not to use it. It cuts a little variety sure but I can deal with it. I can overlook units being basically the same, everywhere and for everyone.
